Advent 2016 - Christmas in the Gospels

Dec 2016

Passage: Luke 1-2
Duration: 28 mins 54 secs
Luke offers the most detailed account of Jesus' birth story. While there are many features to the story and many different characters involved, the key point over and over again is that God intervened in human history. God was clearly involved in this highly unusual birth and much like those who encountered it, we too should adore and strive for faithfulness.

Passage: Matthew 1-2
Duration: 40 mins 52 secs
Matthew's theological biography of Jesus begins by detailing Jesus' origins. More than a boring family tree narrative, this account confronts us with the reality that Jesus is our true King who identified with sinful humanity in order to save us.

Passage: Mark 1 & John 1
Duration: 40 mins 10 secs
Mark and John don't actually tell us anything about the birth of Jesus. However, that doesn't mean their introductory chapters lack lessons about Christmas.
