Easter is about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Beyond just working through a narrative account from the Gospels, this year we studied a passage that focuses on the implications of Easter. Paul, in the second chapter of Colossians, teaches us some important lessons that derive from the reality that we serve a risen Savior.

King Hezekiah was a model king for much of his life. He has faith in God as the Trustworthy King and is rewarded both politically and personally. His faithfulness wasn't total however and Isaiah uses Hezekiah's life to point us to the perfectly faithful King who is to come - the one celebrated on Palm Sunday - Jesus.

All of this is done to remind us that God is the Sovereign King and that he will humble the proud and the powerful. Only text is available as I recorded this as a video to be played during our service, due to a scheduled absence.

Passage: Isaiah 6
Duration: 47 mins 57 secs
Isaiah's ministry is initiated when he is given a vision of God in his heavenly throne room. This vision sticks with Isaiah for the rest of his life. Beyond being a neat experience however, his vision offers us lessons as well, chiefly that God's holiness ought to humble us so we too can heed His call on our lives.
